On January 15, 1950, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam issued a proclamation recognizing the People's Republic of China. Three days later, on January 18, 1950, the Government of the People's Republic of China issued a Declaration recognizing the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam headed by President Ho Chi Minh. This event opened the especially important period in the diplomatic relations of the two countries. Over the past 70 years, although there have been ups and downs, but basically, the relationship between the two countries is pure, positive, respectful, supportive and beneficial to each other on the basis of common ideology. This study highlights the outstanding features of Vietnam - China relations in the period 1945-1975, when the two countries waged revolutionary wars, fought against aggression, defended national independence and built a socialist society.
