ABSTRACT

A fair and transparent election is a crucial foundation of modern democracy. Nowadays, in the digitized era, protecting voters' data is essential to ensure the integrity of the electoral process. This study examines the urgency of personal data protection in the context of elections, identifies the main challenges faced, and evaluates the steps that can be taken to address these issues. It uses conceptual, statutory, and legal philosophical approaches. The theories used are Democratic Justice theory and legal protection. Due to increasing threats to data privacy and security, the protection of voter information prevents data misuse and maintains public trust in electoral systems. By analyzing regulations, technology, and best practices in different countries, this study provides policy recommendations to strengthen personal data protection and ensure that elections are fair and transparent. In conclusion, personal data protection is an essential element in maintaining the fairness and integrity of democracy amidst rapid technological development.
