ABSTRACT
Gender equality are still an issue in Indonesia. Even while quota regulations have been put in place to boost women's political engagement, issues like the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles within parliament persist. Popular women are more likely to be recruited by political parties than grassroots activists who are more knowledgeable about women's issues. In the 2024 elections, first-time voters—particularly those in the younger generation—will have a big impact, notably on social media. Their inclinations in the election may be influenced by their greater receptivity to concerns of gender equality. The purpose of this study is to comprehend how women will be represented in the 2024 elections. The research was conducted through a survey using a questionnaire instrument. Data were collected from first-time voters. Data analysis of the research using the SEM PLS method to determine the influence of women’s representation through attituted towards gender equality on the decision to vote for political members. The results shown that there is an influence of both descriptive and substantive gender representation on attitutes and impacts on the decision to vote for female legislative members in the 2024 elections.
